New York Fashion Week 2015

It’s that time of year once again. A magical time where the eyes of the fashion world come to rest on the unofficial capital of the Western World as we begin to celebrate New York Fashion Week 2015. The week begins Thursday, September 17^th and runs through the following Thursday, September 17th. After the show showcases all its glory in NYC it them moves on to such places as London, Milan, Paris, and so on.

The shows bring hundreds of well-known designers such as Ralph Lauren, Betsy Johnson, Marc Jacobs, Boss, Calvin Klein, Public School, Michael Kors, and DKNY just to name a few. The show also brings in some of the largest names in the modeling industry, such as Tilda Lindstam, Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Manuela Frey, Grace Mahary, and Ashleigh Good. So many in the industry have gotten their big break on this stage on this week it will be very, very interesting to see who the next star is that will be born.

I will be keeping a close eye on two stories that have caught my attention for this week. The first being the heartwarming story of Madeline Stewart. This wonderful young lady will be participating in her first Fashion Week runway walk this fall at the age of 18. As if that is not impressive enough the young lady has Down Syndrome. We here at Model Search America all stand applaud young Madeline (Follow her on Instagram)! Way to go girl!!! You can see her walk for FTL Moda September 13^th at 4 pm in Vanderbilt Hall or on the Fashion Week live stream. The second thing I will be keeping a close eye on will be the added attention made to plus size clothing and models. This has been a something that we here have long wanted to see more of and now it’s beginning to gather steam. It is amazing that these beautiful models are coming to the forefront of the industry, forming a whole new paradigm on what modeling is and setting grand example for all young women everywhere (for other inks on plus size articles).
